Please make sure you qualify

1. Adopters must be 21.

2. Adoption area is only in the following counties: Santa Barbara, Ventura, San Luis Obispo, Monterey. We DO NOT adopt to any other areas.

3. We, unfortunately, cannot offer any discounts because of our very limited budget.

4. Prior to adoption, all household members (including any resident dogs) must be present to meet the animal.

5. We recommend that families with children under 10 years of age do not adopt small kittens or puppies under 6 months of age because of the danger of accidents.

6. All adopted cats must be indoor only. Dogs should be housed primarily indoors and not be kept outside. Per California law, animals must not be tethered outdoors.

7. We are unable to place dogs on hold or take deposits for animals.

8. We do not place more than one puppy at a time because of “Litter Syndrome”.

9. Animals must be picked up within 48 hours of adoption.

10. If you have a yard, it has to be completely and securely fenced by  a physical fence.

11. Swimming pools must be secured with a fence or an approved security cover to prevent accidental drowning of puppies.

12. Spark will give preference to applicants who are absent from home for less than 4 hours per day, especially when applying for a puppy.
